Dancing on Ice's Willoughby defies critics

Dancing on Ice presenter Holly Willoughby has defied her critics, fearlessly wearing another revealing dress on Saturday’s show.

Her outfit the previous week was so low-cut it caused a smattering of complaints, leading to speculation that the amply-chested star would cover up for Saturday’s show. But no. ITV bosses were supportive: “It’s a glamorous entertainment show, so her outfits are in keeping with that. She looks fantastic.”

“I can’t believe the stir it caused,” said Holly. “I like to wear feminine clothes and I’ve had people coming up to me in the street saying how much they like it.”

Fellow presenter Phillip Schofield joked: “Millions were expecting one to fall out – luckily they stayed in.”

“Enough of that,” responded Holly. “Let’s move on.”

Righto. Elsewhere on Saturday’s show – the fourth round of the competition – there was panic as Hear’Say singer Suzanne Shaw cracked a rib in rehearsals hours before going on. Ouch. Despite the pain, the plucky 26-year-old insisted on hitting the ice and, amazingly, came second, with 22 points out of 30.

“Suzanne was determined to carry on,” said a source on the show. “We said she didn’t have to perform but she doesn’t want to let anything stand in her way.” Blimey.

No such steel from How Clean Is Your House? presenter Aggie MacKenzie, who was booted off after falling over and collecting a mere 10 points. “I’m glad it’s over,” she said. Fine, be like that.
