Amy Winehouse goes to rehab

Amy Winehouse has finally decided enough is enough and gone into rehab. Thanks to a stern talking to from her record label and pleading from her father Mitch, Amy eventually agreed to get help, checking into the Capio Nightingale Hospital, North London.
“Amy was scared and didn’t want to go to rehab and be cut off from her family,” said a source. “But her dad said it was the right decision and Amy has accepted that he’s right. It’s taken a lot for her to admit she has a problem.”
Mitch also revealed that the family thought about having the singer sectioned under the Mental Health Act to keep her away from trouble. “We were so worried about her health as a result of her drug misuse that we seriously considered having her sectioned a couple of days before The Sun printed those pictures of her smoking crack,” he said, referring to video footage which emerged earlier this week.
It seems that Amy’s decision is partly motivated by a desire to play at the Grammy Awards on 10 February, where she’s nominated in six categories. “She needs to pass a drug test to get a visa and she wasn’t going to do that without help,” said a friend. “She’s been tailed by police and there was a real concern she was going to be arrested. That would be the American dream over.”
