Wino's old frock fetches £2,000

How much would a stunning Dolce & Gabbana evening dress set you back?

Hmm… a good few hundred quid maybe? Well now, how about if the dress has been worn by the “troubled” Amy Winehouse for her recent Grammys performance?

No, no, no - not a tenner: £1,950, actually.

The aforementioned black frock worn by Wino has just been snapped up on eBay, with the proceeds going to breast cancer charity, the Lavender Trust. Here’s that eBay listing in full: “In black with ruffles, the dress is approximately a size 10, 31in in length with a 26in waist.”

26in waist? Sheesh! That’s about the same size as my thigh. We notice there’s no mention of whether the garment’s been washed, either. Perhaps it comes with a complimentary nose-peg.

Anyway, 57 bids later, the lucky winner was a mysterious bidder called Higghe. Reports of a 16-stone builder in the Cleethorpes area being spotted wearing the gown while driving his white van have yet to be verified.

What with this and last month’s news that Amy’s all set to launch her own clothes and make-up brand, it’s never been easier to achieve that glamorous Winehouse look. Happy days.
